Our RF Systems Engineering team is looking for a passionate, self-motivated individual to work towards ensuring Apple products conform and go beyond all applicable cellular industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Qualifications
  • Practical knowledge of at least one Cellular Wireless technology including 2G, 3G, 4G or 5G
  • Practical knowledge of cellular industry standards including 3GPP, Carrier specifications including performance requirements, compliance requirements, and required testing methodologies.
  • Experience and a deep understanding of Cellular Modem System performance parameters and their impact to RRM and Demodulation performance.
  • Hands on experience with using Conformance lab test equipment for wireless testing.
  • Use of log analysis and debug at the system SW level experience on cellular radio systems.
  • Familiarity with radiated test setups, radiated chamber calibration and use is a plus.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Description
You'll be responsible for assessing modem demodulation, Radio Resource Management (RRM) and performance at the platform-level across cellular technologies towards industry conformance, regulatory compliance, carrier and use case requirements, including: - Defining test requirements; designing, implementing in-house test systems; and executing validation & characterization test plans to meet industry and performance requirements. - Performing failure analysis to understand low margin or failing behaviors making use of experimental SW/FW and mock-up hardware. - Collaborating with test equipment vendors, technology suppliers and cross-functional staff to optimize RF parametric performance. - Tracking validation status; analyze results; communicate issues & insights from data. - Supporting testing at contact manufacturing sites and supporting certification of Apple products. - Bringing-up device-under-test and setups for validation preparedness.
Education & Experience
BS with 3+ years relevant experience required. MS preferred.

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $131,500 and $243,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
