Our RF Systems Engineering team is looking for a passionate, self-motivated individual to work towards ensuring Apple products conform and go beyond all applicable cellular industry standards and regulatory requirements. Key Qualifications Practical knowledge of at least one Cellular Wireless technology including 2G, 3G, 4G or 5G Practical knowledge of cellular industry standards including 3GPP, Carrier specifications including performance requirements, compliance requirements, and required testing methodologies. Experience and a deep understanding of Cellular Modem System performance parameters and their impact to RRM and Demodulation performance. Hands on experience with using Conformance lab test equipment for wireless testing. Use of log analysis and debug at the system SW level experience on cellular radio systems. Familiarity with radiated test setups, radiated chamber calibration and use is a plus. Ability to travel domestically and internationally. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Description You'll be responsible for assessing modem demodulation, Radio Resource Management (RRM) and performance at the platform-level across cellular technologies towards industry conformance, regulatory compliance, carrier and use case requirements, including: - Defining test requirements; designing, implementing in-house test systems; and executing validation & characterization test plans to meet industry and performance requirements. - Performing failure analysis to understand low margin or failing behaviors making use of experimental SW/FW and mock-up hardware. - Collaborating with test equipment vendors, technology suppliers and cross-functional staff to optimize RF parametric performance. - Tracking validation status; analyze results; communicate issues & insights from data. - Supporting testing at contact manufacturing sites and supporting certification of Apple products. - Bringing-up device-under-test and setups for validation preparedness. Education & Experience BS with 3+ years relevant experience required. MS preferred. Additional Requirements Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $131,500 and $243,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
