Assurance Experienced Staff

Job Summary: Perform financial statement audits, reviews, compilations and other attestation engagements under supervision of more experienced staff in various industries, including manufacturing, oil and gas, professional services, health care, governmental, wholesale/distribution, financial institution and nonprofit companies.

  • Actively maintain the Firm's core values HT3 and service standards
  • Contribute to the assurance workflow by researching and analyzing financial statement issues utilizing various electronic sources and software
  • Hone assurance research and planning skills, including the ability to identify, analyze and articulate problems and opportunities, and propose solutions
  • Effectively communicate results, both internally and externally, on project and client information
  • Carry tasks through to completion
  • Maintain understanding of all relevant computer software applications and how they might best be used to promote efficient use of time
  • Obtain understanding of the economics of job performance and Firm operation by reviewing and working within Firm and client budgets
  • Attendance and participation in Level 1 and 2 assurance training as assigned
  • Working towards completion of the CPA certification. Required in order to promote to Manager.
  • Participation in professional and business organizations as assigned
  • Participate in staff recruiting activities and events to support the Firm's recruiting agenda
  • Participation in client development and marketing efforts as assigned
  • Expected level of chargeable time is 1,400 to 1,500 billable hours, within the context of a 2,250 hour year
  • Maintain a positive, constructive relationship with clients
  • Adhere to the Firm's quality control standards
  • Adhere to a high standard of independence and integrity
  • Travel as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a business related field required; Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college preferred
  • Compliance to or working towards compliance to the 150-hour rule preferred
  • Experience as an intern in a public accounting environment and/or six (6) months to two (2) years recent public accounting experience preferred
  • Experience in a paperless assurance software preferred
  • Understanding of generally accepted auditing standards, generally accepted accounting principles (FASB, GAAP, OCBOA) and industry specific rules
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Caseware and RSM methodology preferred
  • Ability to meet deadlines

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee will regularly be required to sit, stand, reach, walk, drive, kneel, crouch, crawl and lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
