Position Summary |
This is a highly responsible incumbent who will collaborate with team members to provide efficient and effective HR services to the university community, in addition to interpreting policies, procedures, laws, and regulations for departments university-wide. The incumbent will exhibit excellent interpersonal skills that foster integrity, critical thinking, outstanding operational performance, and a genuine interest in providing a service oriented approach to the compensation review process.
This is a full-time, fully-benefited, limited-term position to work with a University Human Resources project through Spring 2025. This position may be subject to telecommuting. |

Review and make determinations on salary exceptions received from departments across campus.
- Review and adhere to UGA and USG salary guidelines.
- Communicate with departments regarding the salary review process, status and recommendations.
- Maintain a log of salary requests received.
- Modify data queries and pull related salary information for internal comparisons.
- Access HR aggregate survey database and identify position matches for external comparisons.
- Analyze salary data (percentiles, standard deviation, etc.) and assess the appropriateness of fit for the amount requested.
- Contact department HR representatives for additional information as needed.
- Work closely with HR's Position Management team when reviewing salary increases accompanied by permanent changes in job responsibilities, duties, and/or tasks.
- As needed, work closely with HR's Employment team when reviewing salary increases for candidates who have applied to an advertised vacancy (e.g. confirming minimum qualifications).
- Inform departments of a final salary determination.
- As needed, attach approved forms in position management system (PeopleAdmin) to satisfy UGA processing requirements.
