Job Description:

Assist the Municipal Analysts and Portfolio Managers (PMs) with fundamental credit analysis used for making timely investment recommendations in the portfolio. This job is an important part of the Municipal team and involves supporting analysts who follow designated industries and credits and making investment recommendations based on industry and municipality fundamentals. The ultimate goal of the research and recommendations is to help the portfolios deliver the best possible results for our clients. Our process is very team-oriented, with the analysts interacting with each other and the PMs on the trading desk on a continual basis. As such, the ability to work well within the group is critical.

Key Responsibilities:
  • The candidate will work closely with Research Analysts and PMs in assessing new deals as they come to market as well as maintaining coverage of existing names in the portfolio. This includes analyzing and monitoring municipal credit and industry trends reviewing financial statements, writing credit reports and updates, developing and updating financial models, reviewing key industry issues, monitoring changes in prices and spreads.
  • Perform special analysis or ad-hoc projects.
  • Develop knowledge of fixed income markets, particularly municipals.
  • Contributing to the improvement of the overall investment process by continually exploring new ideas, processes and technologies that will benefit the group.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job does not have supervisory duties.
Education and Experience:
  • 0-1+ years of experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting or other business-related discipline
  • CFA Level I or higher preferred
Additional Qualifications:
  • General understanding of capital markets, quantitative methods, finance, economics and market cycles
  • Research is both qualitative and quantitative in nature and requires an analytical thinker with an emphasis on the ability to translate analytical observations into supportable conclusions.
  • Familiarity with financial modeling.
  • Detail oriented with a commitment to high quality work product.
  • Ability to think independently and assist in presenting a view point in a thoughtful and professional manner.
  • Strong organizational skills - ability to perform tasks and achieve results independently and as part of a team, consistently meet deadlines, and prioritize multiple assignments effectively in a dynamic work environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - ability to interact effectively and professionally with a wide variety of internal constituents.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office products and experience with Bloomberg preferred

Compensation offered for this role is$90,000.00-$115,000.00 per yearand is based on experience and qualifications.

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
