About this Position:

Support New Model project team and New Model activity by engineering or developing tooling or tool processing for use in mass production while guaranteeing both product and/or styling intent and mass production stability.

Responsibilities include:



  • Utilize CAD and FEA to develop design specifications for stamping dies, injection molds or die cast die, predict product manufacturability, and specify die and mold tooling capability for downstream customers to execute and implement into mass production
  • Support die/mold trial activity to ensure proper specification setting, verify/confirm simulation models to actual condition and apply PDCA to improve future project activity QCD targets
  • Create, maintain, and report on individual project schedule to achieve overall New Model schedule
  • Develop and lead Unit improvement themes



Who we are seeking:

Required Work Experience:



  • Co-op experience preferred


Required Education:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial or Polymer Engineering or 6 years engineer experience


Desired skills:



  • Proficient in the use of CAD (CATIA or NX)
  • Skilled in FEA and related software (AutoForm, LS-DYNA, NX Mold Flow, ProCast or similar)
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes (injection molding, stamping or die casting)


Additional Position Factors:



  • 75% office environment: sitting for extended periods and working on PC equipment
  • 25% manufacturing environment: PPE required at all times in manufacturing environment, standing for prolonged periods (up to 2hrs), occasionally lifting up to 40lbs, occasionally working inside presses, potential exposure to heat, occasional exposure to dust, oil or grease
  • Up to 10% travel required, including international (Japan, Canada, Mexico)
