Senior Mechanic (2nd shift, 3pm-11:30pm)

The Senior Mechanic maintains and repairs equipment and helps develop solutions. This role is also responsible for adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) that are in effect assuring the quality and quantity of product produced.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Troubleshoots, assesses and repairs most manufacturing/facilities issues in a timely manner without supervision.

  • Interprets blueprints and schematics.

  • Operates machinery such as lathes, mills, drill presses, and all power and hand tools.

  • Instructs lower grade mechanics.

  • Basic to advance knowledge of electrical circuits and PLC's.

  • Complies with company policies and procedures and maintains regular work attendance.

  • Follows safety rules, SOPs and cGMPs guidelines.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working in and around mechanical equipment, preferably in a food/pharmaceutical/nutraceutical environment.

  • Maintenance and facilities experience including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, boilers, or compressors strongly preferred.

SKILLS:

  • High level of organizational skills, good written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

  • Must be able to multi-task and follow-up when responses are needed.

  • Basic mathematical skills.

  • Must be able to respond to verbal and written instructions.

  • Physical ability to repetitively lift, stand, climb, bend, etc... within a manufacturing environment.
