Key Qualifications Strong Software Engineering skills including design, programming (using C, C++), scripting (Python preferred), debugging and/or commercialization. Hands on experience in embedded system software development (RTOS). Knowledge of wireless/internet standards, including but not limited to 3GPP 4G / 5G Access Stratum (RRC, PDCP, RLC, MAC) and the impacts of related features in end to end product design. Broad spectrum insight to comprehensively understand network system architecture from physical layer to application/user interface end-point is a strong plus. Thrive in a collaborative environment and can clearly communicate while confidently developing software in highly cross functional projects. Description The position involves identifying and/or developing core cellular technologies that keep our users connected 24/7 wherever they go. We go above and beyond to bring user experience to the next level. Our team is responsible to drive requirements, design, develop and commercialize cellular software through the product life cycle. Our members enjoy the flexibility to work on all aspects of Cellular Protocol software - across all 3GPP Radio access technologies (AS, NAS and PHY) and Apple OS interfaces, to come up with the best possible solution for any given problem. We collaborate with multiple cross functional teams to come up with the right interface and methods to develop a fully functional system with balanced power and performance. In this position the candidate will get an opportunity to solve complex problems, use technology in innovative ways and work with other outstanding engineers across a wide range of teams to make marvelous products. Education & Experience Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Wireless Communications or equivalent. Additional Requirements Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $130,000 and $242,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
