DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:



  • Test & Evaluation: Assist in the conduct of testing and evaluation of Windows-based servers and VMs; should be familiar with VMWare or Hyper-V virtualization technologies to manage VM configurations and deployments
  • Software Test Automation training, skills, and experience
  • Knowledge of Marine Corps C2 and Command Post systems: Strong understanding of the systems and processes used by the Marine Corps, including knowledge of the technology and equipment used by Marines in the field, as well as the procedures and protocols they follow
  • Configuration management: A deep understanding of configuration management practices and experience implementing them in a military or government environment; should be able to establish and maintain configuration management plans and processes that are compliant with relevant regulations and standards
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements: Familiarity with regulatory requirements, such as the Risk Management Framework (RMF), that apply to the configuration and testing of Marine Corps systems

FILLING THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON FUNDING

Join our team and help us deliver cutting-edge virtual training and simulation environments to the men and women of the U.S. Marine Corps as a VSiF Test Engineer! This role is unique in the fact that you can employ your skills in a combination of test engineering (50%) and configuration management (50%) capabilities. If you enjoy systems testing and development, reporting, and document creation, this role is for you! You will also have the ability to work remotely one day per week.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Conducts integration, evaluation, and functional verification testing to include conducting test events, configuring systems and applications under test, performing quality assurance and data validation, and providing daily briefings
  • Records, validates and prioritizes defects during test events, collect data, submit trouble reports, and initiate corrective actions. Utilize knowledge of software testing best practices in a virtual DoD test environment
  • Reviews product requirements, documentation, and test plans to ensure proper test coverage of new features and capabilities
  • Determines conditions under which tests are to be conducted as well as sequences and phases of test operations
  • Works collaboratively with data owners, end users, and stakeholders to identify, determine, and gather requirements
  • Presents and communicates analytical findings to customer, team, and management
  • Communicates with U.S. Marine Forces Units, Government Customers, Contractors, and other stakeholders to discuss statuses, solve problems, exchange information and to maintain productivity and progressive communication
  • Directs and exercises control over operational, functional, and performance phases of tests
  • Writes, implements, and reports status for system tests. Provide CM for development and maintenance programs
  • Establishes and maintains configuration item control procedures
  • Ensures compliance with all configuration management processes, policies and procedures
  • Maintains status accounting records to ensure that current and historical configuration of products can be accurately determined throughout the product life cycle
  • Produces reports indicating status of configuration items and communicate to management
  • Assists developers with assigned configuration items
  • Works with automated CM solutions to maintain development and production environments
  • Reads and provides feedback on system drawings and schematics from a configuration perspective
  • Maintains documentation in content or document management systems
  • Provides input to schedules to track document delivery milestones
  • Analyzes and understands software requirements based on customer defined business needs
  • Installs and maintains software and system components
  • Implements and maintains software version control
