Overview and Responsibilities

Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Area Sales Manager of Medical Devices (AMS) to join our Rotech team. This position is responsible for performing a leadership role to monitor financials, staffing, regulatory compliance, and policy and procedure implementation. In this position you will be responsible for managing operations, clinical and sales for multiple branch locations within your territory.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Must live within 75 miles of the territory
  • Travel extensively via airplane and/or vehicle
  • Accountable for revenue growth and area profitability management
  • Coaches and trains sales team members on effective sales strategy with training sessions and field travel
  • Communicates clear expectations to all area personnel regarding their job responsibilities and priorities as set forth in Rotech's policies and procedures and communicates updates to policy in a timely manner
  • Ensures audits for operations and sales are completed for each location at least twice per year
  • Ensures project deadlines and performance standards are met
  • Ensures that any deficiencies noted on the audit are resolved in a timely manner
  • Ensures the entire sales team is trained and knowledgeable with all Medicare and other payer requirements
  • Keeps updated on industry and market place trends
  • Keep supervisors up-to-date on important location issues
  • Manages sales team to market core service and products
  • Monitors the performance and productivity of the area sales team
  • Provides leadership and accountability within Area
  • Supports training of all area personnel
  • The AMS may delegate actual training to others, but the AMS is responsible for assuring timely and complete orientation and ongoing training within their assigned area
  • Works closely with Region Manager (RM) to implement policies, protocols, programs, company initiatives, and tools to improve performance and achieve company goals
  • Works with management to implement growth plan and manages the Location Manager (LCM) and Sales Rep
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervise location specific operations' personnel

Qualifications

Employment is contingent on

  • Background investigation
  • Drug screen
  • Valid driver's license in state of residence with a clean driving record

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of three years directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • 3+ years of job related experience in sales, preferably with Healthcare industry
  • Minimum of one year prior supervisory experience
  • Previous clinical experience preferred

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Ability to organize, plan and delegate properly in accordance with size and services of the location
  • Effectively communicate in English; both oral and written, with physicians, location employees and patients to ensure questions and concerns are processed in a timely manner
  • Helpful, knowledgeable and polite while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Interpret a variety of instructions in a variety of communication mediums
  • Knowledge of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) or Home Medical Equipment (HME)
  • Maintain confidentiality and practice discretion and caution when handling sensitive information
  • Medical terminology
  • Multi-task along with attention to detail
  • Self-motivation, organized, time-management and deductive problem solving skills
  • Strong leadership abilities
  • Understanding of accounting and business management
  • Work independently and as part of a team

Physical Demands

  • Must live within 75 miles of the territory
  • Lift and carry up to 50lbs during travel
  • Requires close vision to small print on computer and or paperwork
  • Requires lifting and transporting of patient equipment
  • Requires sitting, walking, standing, talking or listening
  • Travel extensively via airplane and/or vehicle
  • Utilize computer for extensive hours

Machines, Equipment and Technical Abilities

  • Email transmission and communication
  • Internet navigation and research
  • Microsoft applications including but not limited to Word, Excel, Power-Point, Publisher, Access, etc.
  • Office equipment; fax machine, copier, printer, phone and computer
  • Understanding use of all applicable home medical equipment and supplies

Work Environment

  • Office, warehouse, airports and the field locations
  • May be required to use a personal vehicle for business activities
