Overview

Helio Health is on a mission to treat and promote recovery from the effects of substance use, mental health disorders, and other behavioral healthcare issues. To support the mission of Helio Health, Inc., the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will serve the agency and as professional advisor to the Board of Directors. The President & CEO will spearhead continued organizational growth by expanding behavioral healthcare programs across multiple regions throughout Central and Upstate NY.

Working Relationships:

    Takes direction from the Board of Directors and keeps the Board fully and accurately informed.
  • Recommends to the Board of Directors appropriate policies and procedures for consideration.
  • Supervises staff.
  • Works with community agencies and organizations.


Responsibilities

  • Recruits and develops a competent staff. Related duties include:
    • Conducts on-going training regarding professional performance standards, agency policies and procedures and governmental regulations.
    • Evaluates staff performance.
    • Identifies agency priorities and staff development and training.
  • Develops budget with Finance, Audit & Property Committee of the Board of Directors.
  • Allocates resources.
  • Assists Board in agency planning process.
  • Implements effectively all policies adopted by the Board.
  • Maintains effective community information program and intra-agency professional relationships.


Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Public Administration or related field preferred.
  • Minimum four years non-profit supervisory experience including budgetary experience.
  • Knowledge of the biopsychosocial process of addiction/recovery, self-help group process and principles of counseling.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge and skill in supervision.
  • Advanced leadership, judgment and sensitivity skills.
  • Advanced organizational and delegation skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of chemical dependency and mental health treatment approaches, including program models, clinical practices and medical procedures.
  • Advanced knowledge of budget and policy and procedure development.
  • Capacity to relate effectively with Board of Directors, staff, patients, payers and professional community.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office applications and budgetary software programs.
  • Must be able to travel overnight frequently.
  • Must poses a valid NYS driver's license.
  • Ability to perform duties with a high degree of independence.
