Testing Specialist - North Campus

Essential Job Functions:
  • Administer a variety of academic and professional exams, including TSIA2, Accuplacer ESL, GED, CLEP, correspondence, make-up and accessibility services exams.
  • Collaborate with Dual Credit and service area high schools to administer offsite TSIA2 exams as needed.
  • Uphold all administration and security standards of our external vendors and internal stakeholders, including Pearson, College Board and SJC academic and technical programs.
  • Process associated documents for all exams and input test scores into the student database system.
  • Assist students and other community testers to schedule and request test appointments.
  • Maintain secure storage for testing materials and internal testing records.
  • Create student identification records in the student database system when appropriate.
Additional Job Functions:
  • Troubleshoot and report problems with testing facilities, hardware, software, and other testing vendor materials and services to the Testing Coordinator or appropriate vendor.
  • Answer phone, emails and other communications to assist students, staff, faculty and community with testing inquiries.
  • Maintain well-organized and clean service areas for student and staff use.
  • Collaborate with other San Jacinto College division and academic departments to facilitate testing services.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:
  • Associate's degree or four years of office experience in a college/educational environment
Preferred Education & Experience:
  • Completion of college-level credits or some post-secondary education
  • In-depth knowledge of testing
  • In-depth knowledge of Banner
  • In-depth knowledge of and ability to enforce institutional policies and procedures
  • Understanding of FERPA law
Note: The duties of this position require a physical presence at the assigned on-site work location during unrestricted operations with very limited or no opportunity for remote work arrangements.

Salary Grade: 16

Salary is based on the Board-approved salary schedule for the current fiscal year.
