General Purpose and Scope of Position:

Process and manage all conventional fertilizer registrations within the U.S., including new product registrations, annual renewals, and registration amendments. Manage related regulatory affairs for fertilizer products under the various state regulatory programs. Manage communications with state regulatory agencies and with internal stakeholders related to product regulatory activities. Support and assist the Product Registration Department associates in providing leadership, expert advice, sound judgment, and taking timely and appropriate actions in implementing the product registration process.

For example, create an atmosphere within the Product Registration Department dominated by the desire to achieve "excellence in the delivered product." Ensure that the performance of the fertilizer registration component of the department is such that objectives as set forth in Strategic and Operating Plans are met, with emphasis on effective resource utilization to reduce shareholder risk and maximize corporate value.

Key Skills and Abilities Include:



  • Bachelor's degree in agriculture, chemistry, or similar degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of state regulations and requirements for fertilizer registration and related licensing.
  • Experience with monitoring and managing state regulatory affairs preferred.
  • Knowledge of chemistry, agronomy, and crop nutrition, as well as an understanding of crops, technologies, and practices.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
  • Exceptional time management skills with the ability to set priorities.
  • Proficient in Adobe and Microsoft applications especially SharePoint, Teams, and Excel.


Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:



  • Develop expertise in U.S. fertilizer regulations and provide registration and regulatory advice and services to the Agribusiness Division stakeholders.
  • Process timely registrations and maintain registrations for fertilizer products.
  • Create, review, and provide regulatory approval of labels.
  • Support and assist the Product Registration Department associates in developing and maintaining an effective flow of information regarding state registrations within and among all business areas. This function is accomplished through, but not limited to, the following:

    • Provide regular and required updates for product registrations.
    • Provide timely information identifying the most current approved label versions for production and distribution.
    • Maintain an up-to-date registration action tracking log.
    • Maintain other registration-related logs, websites, and references, as required that are accessible to associates.
    • Maintain, review, and approve labels and data records on industry product databases.
    • Promptly maintain and distribute information regarding product registration approvals, discontinuations, and cancellations.
    • Communicate regularly and respond promptly to inquiries from managers and team members.
    • Take initiative in understanding and improving current processes.


  • Develop and administer the highest quality registration services for all company fertilizer products while assuring compliance with governmental regulations and commitment to ethical responsibilities as displayed in our Corporate Philosophy and Beliefs, Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Manage the interface between company and fertilizer regulatory agencies relating to compliance matters for any of the company's registrations, with interaction of Director of Regulatory Affairs and Corporate Counsel, as necessary.
  • Represent the company's interests by participating in industry organizations.
  • Assist the Director of Regulatory Affairs in developing and maintaining an environment that encourages personal growth, ownership of programs, understanding of priorities, and pride in individual and team accomplishment along with fiscal responsibility.
  • Expected to be readily accessible and responsive during typical business hours, Monday through Friday. Some travel is necessary (less than 10% time).


Compensation and Benefits:



  • In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $68,800 - $91,730. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, retirement plans, and other benefits.
