Senior Director Sustainable Grower Solutions

General Purpose and Scope of Position:

Agriculture is in a period of intense change. External pressures and new technologies are combining to create a movement towards more sustainable growing practices. The Sustainable Grower Solutions Leader will identify and develop market insights and opportunities to meet growers emerging needs in this space, then translate this knowledge into a portfolio of products, solutions, and services that drive growth for Wilbur-Ellis.

In this newly created role, you and your team will develop the strategy, product portfolios, revenue models, distribution channels, pricing guidelines, and branding for this important business opportunity. In addition, the leader will manage internal and external stakeholders, distilling inputs and guidance into real business results.

Key Responsibilities Include:



  • Develop a strategic plan, annual budget, and 5-year proforma financials
  • Identify target markets and companies to support growth plans. Assimilate competitive intelligence on industry suppliers, competitors, and customers in order to develop a strategic plan for new products and services.
  • Identify and prioritize grower needs and define corresponding product portfolio across a regenerative, organic, and alternative agronomic landscape that yields a return on investment (ROI)
  • Manage positioning of the portfolio with key customer segments, including branding, value propositions, and selling materials
  • Manage the development cycle for new products, from conceptualization to product launch; conduct an evaluation of product portfolio and implement measures to maintain effectiveness and adoption of new ideas, products, or enhancements
  • Identify and manage commercial supply agreements for portfolio products
  • Provide strategic leadership, development, and talent management activities for direct and indirect team members
  • Manage the product portfolio priorities, balancing long- and short-term goals, risk, and overall strategic fit

  • Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred), 10+ years of related experience in product management, 5+ years managing grower solutions
  • P&L ownership
  • Experience managing a team of professionals and/or managers
  • Strong risk, control, and quality assurance awareness
  • Ability to bring clarity to ambiguity
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic planning and execution
  • 5+ years of experience in developing product lines, bringing creative innovations to market, mastering value proposition, and value capture strategies


Compensation and Benefits



  • In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $158K-$215K. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, retirement plans, and other benefits.
