Responsibilities will include:
- Stocking, food handling, cleaning and helping customers - all general aspects of maintaining the department
- Representing our quality products with expertise and enthusiasm
- Learning about meat products and communicating your knowledge to customers
- Promoting our products via suggestive selling techniques
- Working with department equipment such as grinders, scales, slicers and knives; no big, scary meat saws (they scare us, too)
- Making sure meat cases are well-stocked and look showroom-worthy-after all, it's Dierbergs, and our customers have fine taste

What you need to succeed
- A friendly, "customers-first" attitude to provide best-in-class service that Dierbergs is known for
- Basic math and computer skills
- Ability to work in varied temperature-controlled environments (refrigerator and freezer)
- Ability to follow safety and food-handling guidelines and keep your work area safe and clean
- Flexibility to work a varied schedule that includes weekends and holidays
Physical Requirements
- Lifting & Carrying - Up to 90 lbs occasionally & 40 lbs frequently
- Pushing & Pulling- Up to 50 lbs of force occasionally
- Occasional - Sit, kneel, stoop, squat, climb, overhead reach & power grip
- Frequent - Stand, walk, head turn, side reach, grasp, pinch, finger manipulation & feel
- Constant - Handling & forward reach
