The purpose of the Princ Architect, Strategic Planning & Support role is to manage partner-related strategic and production efforts with universities and colleges that are part of our partnership.
The Principal Architect of Strategic Planning & Support will work closely with Vertical Directors and our university partners to prepare them for the launch, ongoing success, and scalability of education, business, and undergraduate programs. The individual in this role will support the ASP Team in onboarding and implementing academic program planning infrastructure that supports our partners and ensures that students have a seamless experience from enrollment through their graduation. Please note that this position requires the ability to travel up to 45%.


Main Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Academic Services Core Business team to implement strategic plans for partner institutions, ensuring alignment with their academic goals and objectives.
  • Provide guidance and support to partner institutions in areas such as faculty development, curriculum design, program assessment, and implementation of best practices in online education.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of faculty support initiatives, including training programs, workshops, and resources to enhance teaching effectiveness and student engagement.
  • Conduct consultations with university partners to understand their needs and challenges and provide recommendations on program enhancements and opportunities for growth.
  • Share best practices with the partner universities regarding compliance with regulatory requirements and standards related to online education, accreditation, and program quality.
  • Monitor program performance and conduct ongoing evaluation to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Provide ongoing support to partner institutions after program launch and course development is completed, focusing on continuous quality improvement, and supporting program leaders and faculty.
  • Assist partner universities in understanding strengths and opportunities across their programs' lifecycles, from student orientation through post-graduation employment.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with partner universities, ensuring their satisfaction and long-term success as accelerated online program partners.
  • Collaborate with other Principal Architects to support the extended support process for their partner universities, sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Shadows ASP Directors and other key members of the team in order to become an in-house expert on online education programs, with respect to curriculum, instructional design, accreditation issues, and program structure.
  • Assists in creation of vertical resources/assets which includes templates, and insight documents that can support program directors, faculty, and instructional designers in the development or enhancement of online education programs. Topics may include operations, curricular consultation, instructional design, instructional technology, and/or course facilitation.
  • Assists in the analysis and support of online programs to provide insights for our partners that could improve course quality and retention.
  • Collaborates with individual faculty and the AP instructional design team on specific course-related issues.
  • Interacts with program directors, directors of online learning, and internal AP leaders such as Performance Marketing Leads and Managing Directors.
  • Actively contributes to the success of the Academic Services and Products team with a spirit of continuous innovation, collaboration, process improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Actively works in Team ASP systems, using department procedures, keeping projects updated in a timely fashion. Job Requirements



Job Requirements

  • 3+ years' experience in online higher education institutions and/or working with higher education students and partners in some capacity.
  • Strong understanding of the higher education landscape, including trends, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Experience in collaborating with university partners or stakeholders to deliver academic support services.
  • In-depth knowledge of best practices in online pedagogy, instructional design, and assessment.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS), educational technologies, and online course development tools.
  • Master's or doctoral degree in a relevant field (e.g., education, instructional design, higher education administration) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Quality Matters Rubric or OLC Scorecard.
  • Excellent potential leadership and management competencies.
  • Commitment and passion for quality and innovation in online learning.
  • Focus on a positive customer experience; excellent follow-through, attention to detail, and organizational skills. Committed to supporting the needs of both external and internal customers.
  • A team player with drive, initiative and energy. Mature and confident professional, who displays professionalism consistently, makes decisive decisions and exhibits a genuine sense of urgency.
  • Advanced with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Action oriented: an individual not afraid to get involved in the details of an operation.
  • Willing to work in a lean, fast paced environment.
  • Comfortable talking to varying management levels. Exercise sound judgment.
  • Preferred:

    • 5+ years' experience in online higher education.
    • Experience developing and/or overseeing online programs.
    • Doctorate degree.
    • Skilled using a cloud-based project management tool (Wrike, Asana, etc.)
    • QM Certifications.
