BOAT Philanthropic Foundation Administrator

GEICO is currently seeking an organized and experienced project administrator for its subsidiary, the BoatU.S. Foundation. This candidate will coordinate and assist with Foundation environmental and boating programs.

In this role, you will serve as a liaison between the company and the surrounding community to promote GEICO's values of corporate citizenship through social responsibility initiatives.

You will also:

  • Reinforce GEICO's visibility, influence and reputation through community cause-related initiatives and their promotion.

  • Assist the BoatU.S. Foundation with educating the nation's boaters through safety and environmental initiatives and their promotion.

  • Evaluate the eligibility of organizations and prepare written responses to requests from organizations soliciting funds.

  • Act as point of contact regarding Boat Philanthropic Foundation.

  • Coordinate and follow-up on Philanthropic social events.

  • Travel from time to time throughout the year to conferences and Foundation events (up to 10% of time).

  • Maintain charitable Philanthropic contribution records.

  • Provide necessary documentation to BoatU.S. management in preparation for the quarterly reports.

  • Complete all outside audit reports sent from organizations that have received support from the Philanthropic foundation to their organizations outside auditors requesting verification of the foundations support during the year.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in the environmental space or a degree in environmental science

  • 2+ years of Federal grant management experience

  • 2+ years of public speaking experience

  • Sub-granting fund experience

  • Bachelor's Degree OR 4 years of additional related work experience in lieu of degree

  • Strong writing and editing skills - Database entry and records management

Skills Required:

  • Extremely organized, with superior prioritization and multi-tasking skills, as well as a strong commitment to timely follow up

  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interface, work effectively, and respond to inquiries from both senior leaders and external stakeholders

  • Strong initiative and ability to navigate a fast-paced environment
