Spanish Support Teacher

(New York, New York) Work closely with head teachers to establish target language classroom environment conducive to learning and student involvement.  Promote students' social, emotional and academic growth in both English and Spanish languages.  Coordinate and reinforce lessons in both English and Spanish languages in coordination with the Head Teacher.  Prepare and deliver elementary level curriculum and instruction using Spanish language skills.  Coordinate small group instruction at the elementary level, applying the fundamentals of foreign language development and acquisition.  Ensure students achieve key learning outcomes and target instruction to address individual student needs.  Adapt curriculum for individual, small group and remedial instruction to meet the language targets of identified students or subgroups of students.  Use age-appropriate technologies with creativity.  Salary: $72,000-$92,000 annually.

Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Education, Teaching, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages or closely related field, plus one academic year of experience as a Grade Teacher teaching elementary school level curriculum in an immersion setting required.  Must read, write and speak Spanish.
