Job Overview

As the Quality Manager, you will be managing the quality assurance activities of the company including conformance and continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Manager is the Company's ISO representative and ensures the Quality Management System supports local and corporate objectives. Additionally, the Quality Manager is responsible for the Internal Audit Team as well, ensuring audit requirements are met, and the QMS meets the intent of the ISO 9001 standard.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Work on systemic evaluation of products, services, facilities, manufacturing, and business processes to ensure that standards of quality are being met
  • Develop and implement quality plans, programs and procedures using quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and Six Sigma tools and analyses
  • Review, analyze and report on quality discrepancies, investigate problems and execute quality audits, and develop disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies
  • Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, customers, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure requirements are met
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective action on inputs from customer complaints, internal product nonconformances, raw material rejects and QMS audits to drive process performance improvements
  • Ensure that systems are in place to meet or exceed customer expectations and industry standards, as well as support our internal customers finding solutions to meet our safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives



Minimum Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

  • This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR), as such, applicants must be a U.S. person defined as a citizen, national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, person granted asylee status in the U.S., or person admitted into the U.S. as a refugee
  • Bachelor of Science degree with 5+ years working in Quality in manufacturing environments
  • Good working knowledge of ISO and Quality Management Systems
  • Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, Lean Manufacturing knowledge a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential
  • Ability to travel to customers and suppliers (approximately 20% travel required)
  • Working knowledge of different problem-solving tools such as FMEA, 8D, and 5Y
  • Demonstrated ability to identify root cause, drive improvement actions, and resolve problems
  • Ability to build and lead an effective team
  • Hands-on approach to daily responsibilities



Work Environment/Physical Demands:

Combination of office and manufacturing plant environment. The performance of this position normally requires exposure to a typical manufacturing environment that requires the use of personal protective equipment including steel toed shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection. Manufacturing areas may be affected by outside temperatures and machining. Must be able to: Sit, kneel, crouch, stoop, stand, walk, climb ramps and/or stairs at various times throughout the day; drive a vehicle; read, work with a computer and keyboard; hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (e.g., machinery, sirens, and alarms); speak to express or exchange ideas with, impart oral information to include instructions; vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral and depth perception.
