Radiation Therapist - Per Diem - Days

Job Overview:

The Radiation Therapist performs duties related to the administration of radiation to cancer patients. Must be supportive and capable of having professional relationships with patients who have a terminal illness. Consistently display commitment to customers through words and actions.

Qualifications:

Required:

• BCLS
• Maintain a current state of New Jersey license
• Must be an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists- Registered Radiation Therapist
• Graduate of an approved Radiation Therapy Technology Program
• Minimum of 3 years experience as a Radiation Therapist (R)

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• BCLS
• Maintain a current state of New Jersey license
• Must be an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists- Registered Radiation Therapist

Scheduling Requirements:

• Shift working, day shift
• Per Diem

Essentials Functions:

• Educates patients and families to meet identified learning needs
• Maintains accurate and complete therapy records for each patient
• Review charts daily for changes to prescription, plans, calculations, and blocking
• Safely and accurately administers radiation therapy in an efficient manner according to guideline
• Accurately positions patient according to instructions provided in the chart and delivers the prescribed radiation dose and treatment
• Check for correct prescription, treatment plan, calculations, simulation/setup information, and signed consent before the initiation of radiation treatment per site / plan
