We are a basic immunology laboratory that studies how the immune system functions in both mouse and human skin. Our research focuses on regulatory T cells (Tregs), an immune cell type critical for preventing autoimmunity. We seek to understand how Tregs influence homeostasis, inflammation, tissue repair, and cancer by interacting with other immune cells, parenchymal cells, and stem cells in the skin. Appointees in the Specialist series will be expected to engage full-time in research and professional activities and will not have teaching responsibilities. Specialists are expected to use their professional expertise to make scientific and scholarly contributions, and may participate in University and Public Service. Specialists appointed at the Junior rank must possess a bachelor's degree (or equivalent degree) or at least four years of equivalent research experience (e.g., with instrumentation and research equipment, social science research methods, or creative activities). Specialists appointed at the Assistant rank must possess a master's degree or a bachelor's degree with 3 or more years of research experience. Specialists appointed at the Associate rank must have a master's degree (or equivalent degree) or five to ten years of research experience.
