Position Summary:
The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day marketing strategies and administration support for the Communications and Marketing team supporting the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, a program administered by Vibrant Emotional Health and funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
The Coordinator will play a major role in supporting work with and at conferences, both within the mental health sector, and with the general public. In this role, they will support program wide tracking and oversight of which conferences the program will attend, and in what function. They will have the opportunity to write and contribute to conference submissions, and analyze feedback post conferences.
The Coordinator will support the organization's capacity-building efforts for Vibrant and the 988 Lifeline network of crisis centers. This work may include enhancing media and marketing supports available to crisis centers and contributing to a common understanding of data, its definitions, and usage across departments, crisis centers, and key stakeholders.
The Coordinator the creation of reporting related to the marketing and communications functions, and play a key role in managing monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting. The role will occasionally support the administration function of the team, helping to plan group meetings and facilitate note taking within external spaces. This person will also occasionally support public messaging partnerships and opportunities for public suicide prevention messaging and engagement, assist in creating branded materials, and represent the Lifeline and Vibrant at conferences, events, engagements with crisis centers, and the public as necessary. The Marketing and Communications Coordinator reports to the Marketing and Communications Manager.and works closely with the Marketing and Communications Director, the Marketing and Communications Specialist, the Marketing and Communication Coordinator, and the Network Communications Manager.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Support the streamlining of conference tracking and attendance, and play a key role in transitioning the current process to a more automated process, using software.


  • Track metrics, create reports, and recommend communications strategies based on needs and goals
  • Support the administration function of the marketing and communications team, playing a key role in gathering team members together across the team, department, other departments and externally.
  • Help facilitate Lifeline and Vibrant communications and marketing projects, from conception to completion
  • Incorporate mental health and suicide prevention best practices and recommended messaging in resources, tools, and campaigns
  • Coordinate activities with partners, vendors, and other programs and departments


  • Represent the Lifeline in engagements with crisis centers, partners, and the public as necessary
  • Support the Communications team and carry out Communications tasks as needed



Required Skills/Abilities:


  • Detail oriented
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong writing skills, including proofing and editorial
  • Strong comprehension skill
  • Ability to adapt plans and strategies in light of new information and goals


  • Experience or interest in interacting with the public at events
  • Experience tracking and reporting, and analyzing from the reports
  • Experience or excitement about conceptualizing and creating public digital messaging campaigns and materials, with a focus on addressing sensitive, complex and timely subject matter



Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelors' degree in marketing, public relations, journalism, media studies, communications or related field
  • 1-2 years of professional work experience in a marketing and communications department of a complex organization; experience in a nonprofit mental health, health, human services organization, or government organization a plus
  • Ability to implement and facilitate projects from conception to completion
  • Track record of devising messaging and strategies for sensitive and timely subject matter


  • Ability to meet deadlines and anticipate future needs
  • Experience creating reports and tracking metrics
  • Flexibility and occasional availability on evenings and weekends for organizational needs
  • Some travel required



Physical Requirements:


  • Ability to travel occasionally, and be present at conferences a handful of times a year
