About this Position: Honda Development & Manufacturing of America (HDMA) International Supply Chain (ISC) Parts Quality Engineering Staff is responsible for the containment, analysis, and diagnosis of internationally supplied Parts. Associate will need to be able to read part drawings, apply technical expertise, analyze past problem history, assist with part sorting, develop root cause and counter measure activity associated with the quality of international parts. This position is with the HMDA-ISC-Import Operations Group. This Associate works with Imported Parts for incoming Quality and Packaging related concerns. The Associate will work with North American Honda Plants that receive Imported Parts as well as the Foreign Exporting Plant that supplies those parts. Role is responsible for communicating the concerns from North American Plants to Foreign Plants, assisting containment of the issue at ISC's local warehouse, and reporting final root cause and counter measure. In the case that a part is supplied via JSPS to North American Suppliers, Associate will work with Supplier to perform containment and report concern back to Foreign Plant. Associate will utilize a cross-functional and cross-team viewpoint to work towards continuous improvement and prevent reoccurrence. Support to the overall Import Unit and International Supply Chain Department will be expected. Responsibilities include: * Trouble Reporting - NARS and SYNC Systems utilized - Communicate with North American Honda Plants, JSPS Suppliers, and CC Warehouse to complete containment. Work with Foreign Plant (Exporter) to complete technical analysis of the Root Cause utilizing 2D and 3D Part Drawing as well as Part Specification. Assist with Containment Activity and/or Part Re-work at Import Warehouse and/or JSPS Supplier location at the spot. Review submitted Trouble Reports to evaluate Root Cause. Develop technical expertise to work with the Exporter to develop and implement permanent counter-measure. For A-Rank and Safety Issue, assist with counter-measure review, 5P review and submission, and reoccurrence prevention. * Part Design Change and Tracking utilizing - CPCS * North American Plant Customer Communication - Receiving and Diagnosing problems reported by NA Customer Plants for Imported Parts * Overseas Exporter Communication - reporting concern, understanding root cause, counter-measure, and time frame for implementation and receiving * Packaging concerns and change request communication * Support Import Operations Group, Unit, Department, and Destination Customer projects for continuous improvement * Who we are seeking: Required Work Experience: * Minimum of 1 year of experience with part quality, vehicle quality or process quality OR * Minimum of 4 years of experience with automotive manufacturing Required Education: * Bachelors degree in Engineering or 6 years experience in lieu of degree Desired skills: * Problem solving and decision making * Drawing/Blueprint reading (2D and 3D) * Automotive OEM or supplier experience * Ability to navigate through complex situations * NARS experience is a plus * Honda problem solving tools - 5p- is a plus Additional Position Factors: * Parts sorting does require lifting of boxes to be able to sort parts * Some potential part counter-measure with handwork * Requires some travel to supplier facilities and North American Honda plants * Potential for some international travel to overseas plant destinations * Hybrid workstyle At Honda, you will play a key role in our journey to become a company that society wants to exist now, and in the future.
