Collectively, Advocate Health and its care delivery brands, Atrium Health, Atrium Wake Forest Baptist, Aurora Health Care and Advocate Health Care, have participated in offering administrative fellowships for over 40 years.

The Advocate Health Administrative Fellowship is focused on health system operations. Anchored with executive leadership and exposure to large-scale regional operations, the fellowship provides a robust experience of challenging work in critical areas across Advocate Health that will support growth and development of the fellows as they begin a career in healthcare leadership and administration.

The Advocate Health Administrative Fellowship provides post-graduate students with an opportunity to gain first-hand experience and a rich understanding of our dynamic, integrated healthcare system. As part of this year-long program, each fellow will be responsible for leading projects that are anchored in our strategic priorities, impact the care continuum, and help advance our vision of being the first and best choice for care, as well as our mission to improve health, elevate hope and advance healing - FOR ALL.

Our fellowship program's priority is the projects that focus on disciplines to include: operations, strategy, finance, quality, and other areas that impact the needs of our organization; our second priority is the immediate needs and opportunities available for the fellows to participate in a variety of other initiatives, shadowing, and participation in the shared services immersion program, as determined by the preceptor and fellow, to learn, grow and contribute to the organization and industry at large. Each fellow will have a primary location and preceptor in one of the following locations:

  • Atrium Health - Charlotte, North Carolina
  • Atrium Health Navicent - Macon, Georgia

Each fellow will also have a secondary set of experiences across the Advocate Health enterprise including:

  • Wake Forest Baptist Health - Winston-Salem, North Carolina
  • Advocate Health Care - Chicago, IL
  • Aurora Health Care - Milwaukee, Wisconsin

The Advocate Health Administrative Fellowship is open to candidates receiving a Master's level degree in health administration, business administration, public health, nursing administration or equivalent between June 1, 2023 and June 1, 2024 from a nationally accredited program and institution of higher learning. This also includes candidates who have completed the course work and their graduate program requires a third-year fellowship.
