Converted Mini Roll - Operator


Summary of Job

The Mini Roll Operator is expected to stage necessary material safely and efficiently for the mini roll operation; perform machine set-up and operate the mini winder to produce finished mini rolls that meet or exceed all manufacturing and quality standards. The mini roll operator may need to assist on or operate other Converting equipment or assist on the extrusion lines.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities



  • Load WIP rolls of bubble on to the unwinds.
  • Set up the mini winder for various products.
  • Safely and efficiently produce mini rolls to the required specifications.
  • Remove excess trim scrap and throw away in compactor or place in recycling area.
  • Meet or exceed production quantity and quality standards.
  • Perform quality checks.
  • Make boxes as needed to pack out product.
  • Place finished packed out cases that have been properly labeled on a pallet.
  • Stretch wrap the pallet as needed.
  • Relocate the finished pallet to the designated storage area.
  • Work up to a 12-hour shift as needed.
  • Read Shop Floor orders written in English.
  • Read accurately up to 1/32" on a measuring device like a tape measure.
  • Keep work area clean per 5S guidelines.
  • Keep all tools and equipment in proper places.
  • Enter production and quality check data electronically on a computer.
  • Assist on or operate other converting or manufacturing equipment and perform preventative maintenance on the Laminator as required.
  • Track production data as required.

Environment



  • Work in temperatures of 100 plus with high humidity for up to 12-hour shifts.
  • Exposure to moving equipment.
  • Noise may exceed 85dB+




Physical Characteristics



  • Frequent standing and walking, stooping, squatting, some kneeling and crawling, occasional bending, and twisting.
  • Occasional stair climbing, pushing/pulling 30 - 50 pounds.
  • Occasional reaching, repetitive use of wrist, hands and fingers, frequent use of shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, and ankles.

Education and Experience



  • High School diploma or equivalent required.


  • Minimum 1 year manufacturing preferred.
