Description
Preble Street has As-Needed Staff openings in our Residential Services Programs. As-Needed Staff will be responsible for providing program coverage, maintaining tenant safety, monitoring the security of the building, providing crisis intervention and support, and assisting clients and tenants in overcoming barriers to stable housing. This As-Needed position can work across multiple programs within Residential Programs: Logan Place, Huston Commons, and Florence House Schedule: Typically, 11:00pm - 8:00am Requirements
Bachelor's degree in social work or related field, or a Bachelor's degree with one year of relevant social work experience; however, candidates with any combination of experience and education likely to provide the knowledge, skills and abilities to be successful in the position will be considered. Qualified candidates will have demonstrated skills in outreaching individuals in a variety of environments; an understanding of and positive regard for people who have experienced homeless; an understanding of social work theory and practice; familiarity with community resources; an appreciation of low-barrier service challenges; the ability to establish boundaries with a diverse population; good verbal and written communication skills; and the ability to work as part of a team. Compensation Employees working in direct service roles in coverage programs are paid an additional $1.00 per hour for all hours actually worked in such programs between the hours of 7:00am and 10:00pm. Between the hours of 10:00pm and 7:00am (overnight) a $2 per hour differential is paid.
