Duties and Responsibilities |
- Perform research experiments with appropriate controls under the direct supervision of Principal Investigator (PI)
- Analyze and interpret data from experiments
- Maintain overall lab organization including ordering supplies, preparing reagents, monitoring equipment and compliance with safety regulations
- Train students and other staff in research protocols and lab rules
- Communicate clearly with the PI, and creatively problem-solve
- Attend weekly journal clubs, department seminars and lab meetings
- Perform other related duties as assigned . |
Qualifications |
The hire would have preferentially a Master's degree, or minimally a Bachelor's degree, in Biological or Chemical Sciences. We would prefer someone with 3-5 years of previous research experience but would also consider someone with 1-2 years experience.
The qualified applicant will have the ability to:
- Analyze and interpret data and meet deadlines.
- Follow oral and written instructions and established procedures.
- Maintain accuracy and consistency, conducting themselves ethically.
- Work as an effective team member, dealing calmly and courteously with people and with excellent verbal communication skills
