Power BI Developer and Team Lead

The Opportunity:

We need an experienced solution developer and team leader who will use their passion to guide a development team to learn new tools and techniques, identify and implement system improvements, and mentor teammates. This is an opportunity to solve problems at the Department of Veteran's Affairs by collaborating with a development team to leverage Power BI and SQL to build Power BI solutions with user centric design. You'll coordinate with workforce specialists, UI/UX designers, and the development team to create a seamless user experience usingPower BI. Your team will ensure accessibility for all users by developing a solution that functions across browsers, platforms, and devices while meeting accessibility and security requirements. With mentoring, positive code reviews, and opportunities to learn new tools and skills, we focus on growing as a team to make the best solutions for our customers. You'll be a trusted advisor to your clients as you translate their IT needs and future goals into a plan by crafting architectural patterns, design standards, and implementation best practices.Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

You Have:

  • Experience working in a professional environment using Agile methodologies
  • Experience with MicrosoftPower BIand DAX for development, data visualization, data analytics, and dashboards
  • Experience leading small development teams of 1-4 people
  • Experience with data storage and analysis, such asSQL
  • Experience with APIs, such as REST
  • Knowledge of data modeling and how to turn raw data into meaningful information
  • Ability to communicate with multiple levels of stakeholders and end-users verbally and in writing
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience in an object-oriented language such as Java, C++, C#, Python, and JavaScript
  • Experience developing and executing PowerShell scripts
  • Experience in a software developer or data science role
  • Experience with web application development, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, or .NET-based tools
  • Experience in the VA
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and risk management
  • Knowledge of workforce planning and human capital

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
