Washington County is seeking a General Services Aide - Custodial Day Porter to provide essential janitorial services in support of the County's mission to provide excellent and cost-effective services that support healthy, peaceful, safe, and sustainable communities; and encourage meaningful participation in community activities and County governance. The County's Department of Facilities, Fleet, and Parks Services is responsible for creating and maintaining nearly 40 county-owned buildings (over 1.9 million square feet) and associated grounds, as well as all county parks. Our team of over 70 employees takes their stewardship of county assets sincerely and serves with pride. The Custodial Day Porter position plans, organizes, and performs custodial and unskilled maintenance work under general supervision. In this role, you will perform basic custodial work of a routine nature, often in the presence of building occupants. You will also assist journey-level staff with basic and recurring maintenance tasks. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Perform routine maintenance activities,
- Keep buildings in clean and orderly condition,
- Perform heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish,
- Notify management of needs for repairs,
- Clean snow or debris from sidewalk, and
- Pick up litter and trash outside County buildings.

Successful candidates will enjoy performing routine tasks and also be able to shift priorities to respond to urgent work requests with a professional and positive demeanor. Minimum Qualifications (MQs)
- Equivalent of a high school diploma AND
- One (1) year of experience that includes driving a vehicle and performing related general labor duties in an office, retail, or warehouse setting.

- This position requires the completion of a detailed statement of personal history and successful completion of an extensive criminal and personal history background check through Washington County Sheriff's Office.
