General Purpose and Scope of Position:

The position of Manager of Marketing & Business Development, Industrial Chemicals Business Unit is responsible for developing strategies to accelerate growth.

Key Skills and Abilities:



  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or other chemical-related area. MBA preferred
  • 5-year minimum experience in marketing or product development within the chemical industry with a broad understanding of chemical markets
  • Strong market research experience
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:



  • Assist Business Unit Directors in developing robust Business Unit strategies supporting the industrial businesses
  • Develop and maintain strategy scorecards to track growth on a monthly basis
  • Identify growth markets and applications, and formulate the strategies to prosecute
  • Develop and manage processes to identify, potential new customers and track progress in validating and closing
  • Manage/prioritize the new product pipelines based on the approved strategies
  • Develop and manage processes to gather competitive intelligence and determine how to best compete in the marketplace
  • Assist management in managing product mix and pricing to optimize profitability
  • Select appropriate trade shows and other industry events to help expand our presence in target markets, work with the internal marketing group to develop materials for those events, and manage the customer lead generation from the events
  • Assist with various strategic initiatives & projects as appropriate


Compensation and Benefits:



  • In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $116,500 - $163,030. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, retirement plans, and other benefits.
