Position Summary Exciting Opportunities in Immunology Research The Versiti Blood Research Institute (VBRI) is seeking to recruit independent investigators at a level equivalent to Assistant, Associate Professor or Professor in Immunology. Immunology Faculty Positions VBRI is seeking innovative researchers who can drive vigorous independent research. Strong candidates in all areas of immunology, particularly in the areas of autoimmunity, lymphocyte biology, innate immunity and cellular therapies are encouraged to apply. Our collaborative team of immunologists includes experts in areas such as autoimmunity, B, T and NK cell biology, and immune regulation. Why Join the Versiti Blood Research Institute? The VBRI is part of Versiti, a not-for-profit organization focused on all aspects of hematology, including diagnostic testing, supply of blood products, and leading-edge basic, clinical and translational research. The VBRI currently houses 25 principal investigators grouped in 4 research programs (Thrombosis, Hemostasis, Vascular Biology; Hematopoiesis; Transfusion Medicine and Cell Therapy; Immunobiology). A a significant expansion of research capacity is underway, with plans to add 18 new PIs over a 5-7-year period. Designs for a state-of-the-art new 60,000 - 80,000 ft2 research building are near completion, with ground breaking anticipated for early 2024. Upgrading and renovation of existing research space is in progress. Located on the Milwaukee Reginal Medical Campus, the VBRI entertains extensive collaborations with the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW), Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, and Froedtert Hospital. VBRI researchers have access to graduate students, but are free of formal teaching obligations. The VBRI is committed to attracting and retaining a diverse workforce and faculty body. Our Immunology Program is renowned for its collaborative environment, state-of-the-art facilities, and unwavering commitment to improving lives through groundbreaking immunological research. VBRI faculty typically hold an appointment at MCW, including clinical departments, to facilitate basic and translational research, aided by membership in the Center for Immunology and Cancer Center. Who are we looking for? We are seeking to recruit faculty with an M.D., Ph.D., or an equivalent doctoral degree. Successful candidates will have a track record of creativity and productivity, a desire to integrate into our dynamic, collaborative, and rapidly expanding research community, and a commitment to our core values of diversity, inclusion, and equity. Successful candidates are expected to develop a productive and innovative research program, obtain extramural funding, and participate actively in education, training, and mentorship.
