Summary:

The Senior Manager, Enterprise Integrations will lead the strategic planning of HHMI's integrations architecture. They will manage a team of technical experts to develop and support integrations between HHMI internal vendors and/or vendor systems. They should have the ability to adapt to new and emerging technologies, business objectives, and be equipped to assist leaders in mapping out goals and tasks. In addition, they will partner closely with key areas of the Institute to ensure the successful delivery of initiatives through a structured and repeatable process.

This person will report to headquarters in Chevy Chase, MD three days a week. We encourage qualified candidates who are eligible to work in the United States to apply. Please note we are not able to sponsor a visa for this position at this time.

What you'll do:

  • Take a strategic approach to understand business needs and solve problems by introducing and implementing practical and sophisticated integration technologies.

  • Directly manage staff. Responsible for coaching, training, mentoring, and developing a team to ensure effective integration practices are applied consistently throughout the organization.

  • Establish standard methodologies for API Lifecycle and Governance on the integration platform.

  • Partner with Business Solutions leader, and other business operational sponsor/leader(s) to successfully deliver on projects.

  • Accountable for the successful delivery of all integration initiatives.

  • Lead all aspects of the preparation of enterprise integration solution documentation, including but not limited to; the development of functional and technical specifications, technical approach, testing specifications, and implementing technical solutions into an execution environment.

  • Ensure all projects delivered by the Integrations team have gone through integrations standards and protocols.

  • Effectively handle priorities, work, and timelines of individuals or teams.

  • Measure team and individual performances and finds opportunities for improvement.

  • Ensure on time delivery is the norm.

  • Keep skills sharp across a range of modern technologies while leading the delivery of solutions that integrate multiple offerings to provide customized solutions.

  • Know the latest with software integration industry and technology trends. Conduct internal prototypes to get the HHMI ready for emerging interface standards.

  • Leverage DevOps tools for integration development life cycle (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Maven, GitHub).

What you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or relevant experience required.

  • 10+ years of application development experience including a minimum of 3 years in data analysis, software integration design and Service Oriented Architecture.

  • Experience managing a team and leading the development of enterprise level business applications.

  • Solid technical background and experience with the implementation of major application systems (ERP, public facing websites, SharePoint, etc.).

  • Expertise in ESB (Enterprise Service Bus), ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and Message Queuing is strongly preferred.

  • TOGAF and ITIL are strongly preferred.

  • Experience with deployment of ESB applications on hybrid cloud and on-prem platforms.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple application development projects at the enterprise level in collaboration with other IT groups and business units.

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

Physical Requirements:

Remaining in a normal seated or standing position for extended periods of time; reaching and grasping by extending hand(s) or arm(s); dexterity to manipulate objects with fingers, for example using a keyboard; communication skills using the spoken word; ability to see and hear within normal parameters; ability to move about workspace. Compensation Range

$160,799.20 (minimum) - $200,999.00 (midpoint) - $261,298.70 (maximum)

Pay Type:

Annual

HHMI's salary structure is developed based on relevant job market data. HHMI considers a candidate's education, previous experiences, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity when making job offers. Typically, a new hire for this position in this location is compensated between the minimum and the midpoint of the salary range.
