ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:

As a Statistical Process Control Engineer for General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) Precision Structures & Optics (PSO), you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for the development of meaningful metrics and quality improvement tools. These include tools for retrieving / querying, analyzing, and presenting data. As the SPC Engineer you will also be responsible for collecting and analyzing data on individual processes to identify and improve capabilities, capacity, and provide status to Sr. Managers based on a developed series of metrics. Your work products will positively affect the manufacture of Beryllium products used in the most demanding applications, across the aerospace, defense, and nuclear industries. Our products are used in high performance targeting and guidance systems, missile defense systems, space exploration, and satellites.

  • Proficient in the use of advanced statistical process control methods used to develop meaningful metrics and solutions associated with quality, machining, and efficiencies
  • Knowledge and experience in the development, implementation, and maintenance of processes used in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies
  • Use of Lean Manufacturing and other statistical techniques to analyze process data to determine capabilities, capacity, risks, and potential improvements
  • Application of statistical methods to assist the estimating team during proposal development

  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
  • Detail oriented with strong record keeping and organizational skills

  • Comfortable working in a demanding shop floor environment around various machine tools and equipment
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment

This position is fully on-site. While on-site, you will be a part of the Cullman, AL facility.

Target salary range: USD $103,200.00/Yr. - USD $114,400.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
