Position Summary |
A Communications Coordinator position is currently available in
UGA Integrated Pest Management Program in Department of Entomology at the University of Georgia, Athens, GA 30602. This position serves as primary point of contact for the
UGA
IPM Specialists,
UGA Extension agents, and general public for the
IPM Program. The incumbent will also be responsible for composing and managing the distribution of newsletters, press releases, and spearheading and coordinating social media campaigns to promote
IPM via Twitter, Instagram, podcasts, etc. Compose and edit all grant reports and proposals; Manage and update the
IPM website content; Effectively communicate and disseminate relevant information via email, telephone, and face-to-face; Work with
IPM Team members in multiple departments to organize
UGA
IPM Academy programs including symposia, workshops, webinars and field days for various stakeholder groups; Develop and distribute surveys to assess the impact of
IPM programs to stakeholders/target audience; Collaborate with a variety of departments, professors, specialists, and Extension agents; Conduct various other ancillary duties as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies |
Ability to analyze Google Analytics data and social media platforms to document impact of the digital footprint and impact of
UGA
IPM Program and use those data to improve existing outreach efforts. Superb written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Ability to organize and convert key information into clear, concise, and informative written documents. Meticulous organizational skills. Project management skills a plus. Skillful in working on multiple projects simultaneously. Working knowledge of
UGA branding guidelines and policies as specified at
http://brand.uga.edu. Willingness to travel to meet with
UGA faculty and staff at Tifton and Griffin campuses and to attend
IPM related meetings across the state as needed. |
