Job Description:


The College of Wooster is seeking a Financial Aid Coordinator. This position in an integral member of the Office of Financial Aid, serving as the frontline contact for both current and prospective students and families. This individual provides administrative and clerical support of daily operations to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Main reception for the Office of Financial Aid
  • Answer and direct all phone inquiries, coordinate appointments for financial aid team, maintain office calendar, respond and track email, organize and track all documents received.
  • Direct the flow of documents and processing at different stages of the financial aid cycle.
  • Advise students and family members of general financial aid procedures.
  • Review student financial aid applications to support processing of financial aid offers.
  • Coordinate all direct mail projects.
  • Prepare documents for annual state and institutional audits.
  • Coordinate proactive outreach to support students' financial aid processes.
  • Support development and implementation of financial literacy programs.
  • Assist with daily management of student employees.
  • Manage office supplies and inventory.



Requirements:


Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree preferred; at least two years related administrative experience and/or training; experience and knowledge using Microsoft Office products.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills while interacting with a diverse population of students, faculty, staff, external customers, and vendors.
  • Interest and ability to work with technology and software applications; must be able to operate all office technology and equipment with ease.
  • Be detail-oriented, demonstrate strong organizational skills, and execute projects and tasks on time.
  • Interest and ability to use mathematics and statistics to solve problems.
  • Must be able to identify complex problems and review related information to develop, evaluate options, and recommend solutions for implementation.
  • Remain confidential with financial information.
  • Demonstrate cultural competency and value continued education related to equity, diversity, and inclusion efforts.
