Ochsner Children's Hospital is seeking a BOARD-CERTIFIED CLINICAL PEDIATRIC GENETICIST for an exciting opportunity to serve as Section Head of Clinical Genetics in New Orleans, Louisiana. The successful candidate will work closely with our 2 junior pediatric geneticists as well as our dedicated more experienced pediatric geneticist who works remotely, 3 genetic counselors, and an experienced group of nurses. The candidate will lead recruiting of additional Pediatric Genetic faculty to join the section. Expertise in the evaluation, diagnosis, and ongoing care of patients with a variety of genetic disorders, including congenital anomalies, congenital heart disease, chromosomal disorders, autism, mitochondrial disease, and cancer, is desired. The section also offers prenatal genetic counseling as well as newborn screening. Key responsibilities of this position include: Clinical Care

Leadership and Program Development
Our comprehensive Pediatrics Program including primary care pediatricians and pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists (Ochsner Children's) represents over 230 physicians. The group is the region's leading integrated provider of multispecialty care for newborns, infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. We offer a full range of pediatric complex specialty services including congenital heart surgery and cardiac transplantation, liver and bone marrow transplantation, a comprehensive surgical sub-specialty group, and the region's only comprehensive multidisciplinary developmental center. We recently announced the building of a new separate, comprehensive, dedicated Children's Hospital on our main campus, with expected opening in 2027. We currently care for patients in an expanding 67-bed Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a 14-bed PICU, a 12-bed pediatric CV-ICU, and a 44-bed pediatric acute unit, with a dedicated pediatric emergency room, and full-time, region-wide in-house pediatric and neonatal transport teams. In addition to patient care, Ochsner Children's Hospital has an ACGME-accredited pediatric residency program and is responsible for teaching pediatric residents from the Tulane-Ochsner Pediatric Residency program as well as medical students from both Tulane and the University of Queensland. Ochsner Health and Xavier University of Louisiana recently announced an agreement to establish a joint College of Medicine.
