The Senior Product Marketing Manager supports the development and implementation of strategic Marketing Plans for their assigned university partners. The position reports directly to the Director of Product Marketing or Sr. Director of Product Marketing depending on assignment.

The Senior Manager will be responsible for managing marketing programs and campaigns for a portfolio of AP's university partners with the desired outcome of increasing total enrollments in the online degree programs. The Senior Manager is typically an individual contributor role advancing projects through influencing actions performed by others across AP cross-functional teams. This role is a central part of the Product Marketing Team and will serve as the key point of contact for the partner university's marketing team and internal AP support teams.

This position will also support the Sr. Director and/or Director in the creation and oversight of the marketing budget, enrollment expectations, and product positioning for select universities. To support in this effort, the Senior Manager will be responsible for weekly university program performance analysis and implementing strategies to improve performance in conjunction with the AP cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities Include:


  • Create, maintain, and execute marketing calendar and plan with deliverables to track program efficiency for assigned university partners.
  • Track key metrics for all marketing assets to measure, analyze and optimize online marketing programs to focusing on issue identification and resolution to achieve acquisition and retention goals.
  • Report on metrics for each assigned university partner to Sr./Director and key stakeholders at regular intervals, including weekly team meetings.
  • Manage university partner and regulatory approvals for all marketing assets prior to launch to ensure university and governmental compliance.
  • Develop competitive marketing, industry, and customer analysis to identify key metrics, challenges, and opportunities; oversee additional research as needed collaborating with AP Marketing Research & Insights Team.
  • Become an in-house expert in the assigned partners' products/programs, brand positioning, and target audiences.
  • Develop key messages for marketing campaigns based on partner's brand standards, market positioning, and target audiences.
  • Create and submit creative briefs to support development of marketing assets during new university partner and program launches, as well as campaign refreshes.
  • Review marketing assets on a regular cadence ensuring all content is accurate and up to date.
  • Support AP's Field Marketing Team with marketing materials and programmatic information driving lead flow.
  • Monitor and maintain partner university marketing budget; analyze and report on performance.
  • Work closely with all AP cross-functional teams to continuously improve the online experience thorough the entire student journey.
  • Monitor higher education industry trends.
  • Other duties, as assigned.


Requirements Include:


  • Bachelor's level degree required, Master's degree a plus.
  • 5-8+ years of portfolio brand management experience, product management, agency or direct.
  • Higher education experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute a "test, analyze, refine and test" strategy.
  • Ability to work creatively and manage multiple clients and projects.
  • Services or product experience highly desirable.
  • Agency and client experience highly desirable.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office required; experience with Salesforce CRM and Tableau a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, intellect and diplomacy are essential.
  • Strong attention to detail required.
