This position is full-time Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 7:00am - 5:00pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

We offer weeks of paid training. The hours during training will be 7AM - 4PM or 8AM - 5PM CST. Training will be conducted virtually from your home.

*All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Manage administrative intake of members
  • Work with facilities and the clinical team to manage requests for services from members and/or providers
  • Process incoming referrals and prior authorizations
  • Handle resolution/inquiries from members and/or providers
  • Making outbound calls to Long Term Services and Support (LTSS) members to screen for potential enrollment

Required Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma or GED (or higher)
  • 2+ years of customer service experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Word (create, edit, save documents), Excel (create, edit, save spreadsheets) and Outlook (email and calendar management)
  • Ability to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 7:00am - 5:00pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Clerical or administrative support background
  • Experience working within the health care Industry and with health care insurance


Telecommuting Requirements:



  • Reside within Eastern OR Central Time Zone
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.


Connecticut, New Jersey, New York or Rhode Island Residents Only: The hourly range for Connecticut, New Jersey, New York or Rhode Island residents is $16.00 - $31.44 per hour.
