Network Development Manager - Metronet

POSITION SUMMARY:

Leadership position integral to the selection, development and roll-out of construction of new Metronet markets. Responsible for investigating market infrastructure, reviewing current municipal construction requirements, and determining appropriate strategies to support Metronet investment to construct new market networks. Position will require/involve management of issues across multiple Metronet organizations in addition to Business Development, including Construction Department, Engineering/Design departments, Legal, Marketing, and Metronet Executives. Successful candidate will take lead role in representing Metronet before a broad range of targeted market leaders, including elected officials, engineering, and public works, as well as, with municipal utilities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Investigating targeted municipal engineering and construction requirements (permitting, costs, timeframes, specifications, etc.)
  • Roadmap the process for permitting and construction in new locations to determine feasibility for future construction
  • Identify high cost of permitting cities and cities that would not be growth potential for Metronet to avoid
  • Identify and negotiate acquisition of existing municipal infrastructure or other third party as required
  • Utilizing Google Earth extensively to analyze potential construction routes to determine best case use and pathing for future development opportunities
  • On-site analysis of construction challenges with NESC codes and pole owner regulations for attaching to their pole
  • Participate/lead meetings with municipal officials, including elected officials and city department leaders
  • Clear construction roadblocks with local and city ordinates and identify restrictions to Metronet's construction practices and strategies
  • Prepare and provide regular reporting on investigations for business developments and potential growth opportunities
  • Assist and communicate with construction and City Build teams on navigating city ordinances to avoid delays
  • Travel to targeted cities and towns up to 20%
  • All other duties as assigned


JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:



  • Highschool Diploma or GED required
  • BA/BS Degree in an engineering or construction-related field and/or sufficient industry experience preferred and/or years in relevant related worked experience within Fiber Networking industry
  • 5+ years of related experience and record of success
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
  • Highly proficient in Google Earth or other mapping applications
  • Detailed understanding of Metronet's network architecture
  • Highly effective interpersonal and communicative skills both internally and externally
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism in communication at all times
  • Confident and effective at public speaking
