Harding Hospitals Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES) team is a multi-disciplinary team of professionals who facilitates access to Psychiatric Services on a 24-hour basis. As a Harding service embedded in the Emergency Departments, PES provides comprehensive mental health amp; substance use evaluations, crisis assessments, and short-term psychotherapy to patients presenting with psychiatric emergencies. Our team assists patients amp; families with links to inpatient, partial, and outpatient services for adults through Harding Hospital and other services in the community.

Required Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Social Work or Counseling or related field; Ohio license to practice (i.e., LSW or LPC) is required. Eligibility for future independent licensure (LISW) required.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of Pre or Post-Masters training and experience in working with patients with mental illness and/or substance disorders is also required. Experience via an internship prior to completing Masters level education may be considered.
  • Experience with completing mental health amp; crisis assessments, case-management, and conducting evidenced based psychosocial interventions preferred.
  • Must be willing to work some weekends and holidays.

The PES Clinician-STAR TRC is a dual role that helps to link trauma victims to resources within the Victims of Crime Assistance (VOCA) program as well as completing crisis evaluations as a part of PES. This role helps to facilitate the entire patient intake process both within the OSU EDs and across the Medical Center. This includes the VOCA screening, clinical assessment, triage, and linking patients with appropriate services. We believe in evidence-based psychiatric, trauma, crisis, and risk assessments amp; intervention. As a member of our team, you will assess patient needs, and coordinate linkage with vital services and resources.
