Position Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist provides daily HR support to the facility in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations to including recruiting, on-boarding, and systems administration.

Essential Functions:

  • Prioritize and coordinate a wide variety of tasks and activities of the Human Resource department which may include recruiting, on-boarding, performance evaluations and benefits administration.
  • Conduct investigations into employee complaints, develop and implement solutions as appropriate.
  • Oversee all disciplinary and termination activities in partnership with plant supervisory personnel.
  • Manage co-op student program to include on campus recruiting, on-boarding and off-boarding
  • Recruit qualified candidates for hourly and salaried positions to meet plant staffing targets
  • Build and maintain all hourly and non-exempt salaried employee files. Communicate with payroll, training and division headquarters as required.
  • Maintain HRIS accuracy as well as maintaining employee timecard and badge systems.
  • Manage the administration of FMLA including determining eligibility, notification, tracking and going through the second and third opinion process when applicable.
  • Assist with administering hourly and salary benefit programs including orientation, registration, records keeping, communication and problem troubleshooting.
  • Ensure EEO, Affirmative Action are in place, properly executed and in legal compliance
  • Administer employee welfare programs including logo clothing, holiday party and anniversary awards
  • Maintain positive employee relations by cooperating with customers, co-workers, and management.
  • Perform other duties as are designated by the supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of human resources discipline
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related field. MS or MBA degree is highly desirable.
  • Prefer 3-5 years' experience in a Human Resources or related role in a manufacturing environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Employee will spend majority of time in the office but will be expected to have some plant floor presence. Some travel is required.
