Job Mission

The hands-on job for this role in HPC platform is responsible for the support and collaboration with computation infrastructure team to set up and maintain computation platform in HMI San Jose site.

Learning and running software & platform development processes, install, and upgrade (ansible, K8s, Container, Docker, shell script).

Job Description

  • Support, maintain and troubleshooting HPC computation platform with computation infrastructure team and machine owners.
  • Troubleshoot existing platforms.
  • Provide scripts to automate the monitoring process on both software and hardware scope, also include network, and other software issues .
  • Develop and automate installation/setup/testing and monitoring function/process for HPC platform.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Ability to configuration and maintenance of the HPC computer rack/hardware.
  • Ability to troubleshooting and resolving hardware problems on Linux cluster hardware and networking equipment and applying logical methods of resolution
  • Ability to do preventive maintenance of cluster hardware
  • Familiar with distributed file systems (Lustre/NFS), virtualization and containerization related experience is a plus
  • Familiar with HPC Rack, Build, cable, configure, and provision Linux kernel, windows server.
  • Familiar with HPC Operating System Installation/provision - Windows Server, Linux, Unix.
  • Experience using Web Server and Database installation.
  • knowledge in High-Performance Computing, script language(Shell, Python), Linux administrator, operating systems (Linux, Windows), computer network
  • knowledge in Operating systems: Linux, Windows
  • knowledge in HPC hardware
  • Proficient use programming language: Python, Shell
  • Knowledge about Virtualization and containerization, Computer network, Network switch topology and Distributed file systems

  • This position is located on-site in San Jose, CA. It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently $17.00 - $53.00. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
