Patient Service Representative - Ambulatory Float Team

Description

In this position, you will provide administrative and patient care support to various ambulatory practices. You will assist in coordinating patient flow throughout the clinic, from registration to discharge, process prior authorizations and complete Surgery Scheduling tasks. You will work as a member of the Ambulatory Care clinic team to provide smooth outpatient flow resulting in optimum patient satisfaction and clinic operation. You will support different teams/ practices to cover illnesses, holidays, and leaves of absence.

This role requires a Team Assistant with a highly flexible, enthusiastic and proactive approach as you will travel to UCLA Community practices in the cities listed below:

* Calabasas
* Montecito
* Porter Ranch
* Santa Barbara
* Santa Clarita
* Santa Maria
* Simi Valley
* Ventura
* Westlake Village

Salary range: $29.42 - $29.42/Hourly

Qualifications

Required:

  • Ability to be highly flexible, travel to multiple work sites within UCLA Health community based practices and work a variable schedule
  • Knowledge of major medical insurance plans and types of coverage provided
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Skill in using a PC with associated programs including Word, Excel, and E-mail, demonstrated work experience with a database computer program
  • Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities
  • Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with Faculty, Staff, Administration, and patients from various social, cultural, and economic backgrounds
  • Ability to creatively integrate competing demands into a productive working environment
  • Skill in verbal communications to clearly convey complex problems in both formal and informal situations

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of specific specialty practice and workflows
  • Familiarity and knowledge of authorization process and managed care programs
  • Working knowledge of patient related policies and procedures as well as a thorough understanding of the University system and its services and programs
  • Knowledge of hospital computer system and the various software products to perform administrative work
