Job description

Primary Duties: Serve as primary liaison and subject matter expert for Medicaid Waiver billing and support. Help prepare monthly financial statements and prepare work papers for audits. Secondary Duties: Act as the backup for the accounting department as needed, specific emphasis on billing and utilization functions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Associates degree or equivalent in accounting or other related business field; OR

Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a business field with a demonstrated pattern of progressively more managerial positions and/or assignments, and a competency in administrative duties.

Experience in at least (2) two of the primary areas of responsibility:

a. Accounts Payable entry and processing;

b. Accounts Receivable entry and processing;

c: General Ledger entries and Maintenance;

d. Job Accounting;

e. Payroll;

f. Familiarity with Medicaid, Medicaid Title XIX MR/DD Waiver, health insurance, and/or private funding sources for rehabilitation and/or clinic

Ability to utilize technology

RESPONSIBILITIES:



  1. Maintains current knowledge and information regarding Molina (WV State payor) for the agency and any affiliates for internal control. Prepares and books necessary journal entries after receiving the proper authorization.



  1. Helps prepare monthly financial statements by input of recurring entries, inputs other information as requested.



  1. Assists in the preparation of departmental and agency budgets.



  1. Prepares work papers for grant and financial audits to verify the accuracy of accounts.



  1. Functions as the backup accounting department-billing and utilizations function.



  1. Promptly notifies and updates the Corporate Controller of all issues.



  1. Assists in the completion of routine administrative and data dependent tasks in support of the Executive Director, Corporate Controller, Clinical Services Manager, HR & Recruitment Manager as assigned.


QUANTITATIVE STANDARDS:

1. Develops template for improved reporting within/from billing software within 3 months of demonstrated competency in billing software applications.

2. Develop ( with ED and Controller) internal controls for final disposition of uncollectable revenue within 6 months of hire.

3. 100% of denied claims will be investigated and acted upon within State mandated timelines ( usually 1 year after service).

4. Assist in research, selection, and implementation of software applications as needed.
