The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) is the premier not-for-profit membership organization dedicated to improve the lives of all people seeking obstetric and gynecologic care, their families, and communities.ACOG is currently seeking a Senior Director,Human Resources.

The Senior Director, Human Resources provides strategic guidance as the human resources leader of the College to create and implement an HR strategy, structure, and processes, while ensuring day-to-day operations remain uninterrupted. Responsible for leading and guiding critical HR processes throughout the organization and leveraging HR to accomplish key business objectives, implementing cultural and organizational change and ensuring that ACOG has the resources, capability, leadership, and bench strength to drive ACOG's member-focused mission. Has oversight responsibility for policies and procedures encompassing all aspects of human resources, including employment, compensation, training, talent acquisition, staff training and development, benefits, employee relations, EEO and AAP programs, compliance and the integration of the HR strategy into the overall strategy.

This position is hybrid remote based out of ACOG Headquarters in Washington, D.C. We are open to candidates outside of the Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia metropolitan area, with the understanding that relocation will occur prior to start date.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the CEO and executive leadership team to identify ways to support the organization's Mission, Vision, Values and Outcomes, Competencies, to build and implement a consistent HR strategy, and to strengthen employee engagement and company culture.
Forge relationships across the organization to align human resources strategies, policies, and processes with the business's current and future goals.
Advise executives and senior leaders on organizational culture, performance, and change management. Collaborate with leaders across the organization to ensure their teams are implementing or leveraging development programs and initiatives.
Establish and update core competencies used to evaluate staff and leadership to reflect organizational needs and best practices. Establish and maintain processes and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state employment laws and regulations.
Develop and implement robust succession/organizational planning and talent development programs to ensure the organization has high potential talent at all levels of the organization.
Coordinate the salary administration process. Assist in determining relative market values for all new jobs. Actively participate in compensation program development activities
On an annual basis, review ACOG's affirmative action program with top management, and recommend ideas to strengthen ACOG-wide understanding and support of the program.
Ensure the company's performance management and total rewards philosophy serve to attract, retain, motivate, and reward an inclusive, high-performing workforce at all levels.
Ensure effective implementation of the diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy in the workplace.
Develop an effective HR team, that is business savvy, proactive, responsive, and collaborative.
Provide leadership, direction, and management of staff, including fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment through supervising staff, providing feedback, coaching, support, mentoring, performance management, and training and development opportunities as appropriate.
Develop, maintain, and update personnel policies and procedures and ensure their
implementation conforms to best practices and applicable laws and regulations. Oversee
implementation of updates for the Employee Handbook, and other materials, and providing training
as needed. Attend relevant trainings and seminars to ensure ACOG's continued compliance.
Oversee organizational development programs ranging from orientation/onboarding, job skills
development, managerial training, and compliance training.
Support and coach leaders to ensure optimal people management skills are deployed in routine
employee relations, while mitigating risk for potentially difficult or sensitive situations.
Develop a training track to instill in ACOG's people managers the essential skills to manage,
develop, mentor and engage employees under the manager's supervision.
Manages relationships and seeks to improve services from external HR vendors, consultants,
brokers, and partners.
Negotiates, administers, and ensures appropriate benefits program.
Advises and consults on HR issues with a focus on mitigating organizational risk.
Identify emerging compliance issues and consulting with outside legal counsel when needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.



Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required, Masters in relevant field preferred.
12 years of human resource management experience with strategic, talent management,
compensation, and benefits responsibility required.
Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience.
Must have budget management experience and financial acumen.
Senior HR Certification through HRCI or SHRM preferred.
Experience leading a small team to large, measured outcomes.
Demonstrated experience driving effective organizational change.
Solid understanding of HR principals, laws and regulations. Experience writing policies and
procedures and providing guidance to management and executive leadership.
Experience in a non-profit environment and/or membership association preferred.
Experience working with a Board of Directors and a compensation committee preferred.
Able to deal effectively with strategic issues as well as tactical operational details.
Experience developing and implementing organizational structures to support overall strategy
while achieving organizational goals.
