Position OverviewCHCS is seeking a Senior Program Officer who will have responsibility for the day-to-day operation of projects that focus on children receiving publicly-financed health and behavioral health services, with a particular focus on multi- system involved youth, specifically youth involved with child welfare and juvenile justice systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with child behavioral health and child welfare policy and practice, as well as understanding of Medicaid policy and financing. This is not a clinical position; individuals with policy experience are sought. The Senior Program Officer is a thought leader who is creative, innovative, able to discern and articulate the motivating factors and steps required to implement change, and comfortable taking risk by both communicating and receiving challenging ideas
This full-time, exempt, senior-level position will report to the Director, Behavioral Health and Child Welfare and is based in the CHCS office, near Princeton, NJ. This position offers a hybrid schedule, with one day in the office and four days remote. Local candidates are desired; remote candidates outside of the NJ/PA/NY area will be considered but will be required to travel to the home office periodically, in addition to the position’s regular travel responsibilities. Physical Requirements/Working ConditionsCHCS operates a hybrid environment, with one day in the office and four days remote for local employees. The employee will perform job duties in a business office environment. Tasks are generally carried out with no specific or unusual physical or environmental demands. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to work at a desk with a computer for extended periods of time. Specific physical abilities required by this job include operating basic office equipment such as personal computers, duplicating machines, fax machines and standard office telephones. The employee may be required to attend meetings, both on- and offsite, via phone, videoconference or in person.Salary and CompensationSalary is commensurate with experience; CHCS’ benefit package is comprehensive and highly competitive.
