Summary

  • Providing technical support for VWGoA Tooling projects, by owning the responsibility for class A and further CP5 Body Shop parts and their die- making and quality- loop processes
  • Identifying and managing critical risk factors in the tooling manufacturing and part qualification process
  • Driving the launch readiness of the responsible parts in compliance with their timing and quality requirements
  • Detail review root causes for surface/quality defects: reviewing the Die-Sets/process with suppliers
  • Working alongside tool shops and pressed part suppliers in the NAR region as well as technically reviewing correction plans and change cost proposals from the supplier base
  • Steering the Q-loop towards achievement of part quality notes
  • Organizing Parts Tables to allow for detailed quality status and part readiness review includingreporting to Management

Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for a defined part scope and their VW tooling manufacturing process, based on VW standards and requirements for CP5 body shop parts.
  • Checking Design to match released CAD data levels and their casting model manufacturing.
  • Defining and detailed technical tracking of die- progress milestones and timing plans
  • Tracking of Checking Fixture design realization according to the part tolerances and customer specifications
  • Besides new-design tooling scopes, tracking of die- refurbishment or die- maintenance activities
  • Release of authorized data levels from the Volkswagen part data storage (KVS)
  • Verification and ordering the pre-series material
  • AEKO evaluation, creation of correction overview sheets and SKD (process deviation requests) if needed
  • Constant updates on timing/ quality achievement and cost forecasted part status
  • Assessment of tool quality and introduction of corrective measures

Qualifications

Required:



  • 10+ years of tooling/ stamping experience
  • Tool making skills either per apprenticeship or on the job training for class A and/ or CP5 parts
  • Press shop experience in surface audit and countermeasure determination
  • Knowledge to define spotting picture and tryout condition statuses
  • English language proficiency


Preferred:



  • Knowledge of VW tooling standards
  • Hot Forming Expertise on top of Class A and CP5 parts
