MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:



  • Must possess an active Top Secret/SCI clearance
  • Minimum of ten+ (10+) years of Hardware/Software integration of communications and/or networking systems
  • Experience with virtualization technologies, VMware vSphere or Red Hat Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM)
  • Experience with software Containerization (LXC, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Ability to automate tasks using scripting languages
  • Must currently hold a DoD 8570-compliant IAT II certification (SSCP or Security+ CE with appropriate CE/OS certificate) or be able to obtain within six months


DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:



  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, or a related field
  • Experience actively working within an intelligence discipline (FUSINT/ELINT/SIGINT)
  • Experience with working in an Agile methodology environment
  • Familiarization with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIGs/CS2) requirements
  • Experience with DevOps tools (GitLab, BitBucket, Jenkins, Gradle, Maven, Docker, Puppet, Ansible, Sonatype, SonarQube, JUnit, JFrog Xray, Selenium, JFrog Artifactory) or similar

FILLING THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON FUNDING

The Sr Systems Engineer will be a member of the team focusing on integrating applications in Linux-based environments. The engineer will work with NIWC stakeholders, development and support teams to ensure the platforms are integrated, tested, available, up-to-date, provide support for comprehensive (both automated and manual) software testing, and support Agile best practices.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Provisions RHEL and CentOS servers in both physical, virtual, and containerized environments
  • Integrates a variety of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS), government off-the-shelf (GOTS), and open source applications within Linux environments
  • Installs, executes, and tests conventional and containerized applications
  • Troubleshoots quickly and efficiently in Linux-based environments
  • Researches and recommends innovative and, where possible, automated approaches for system administration and integration tasks
  • Up to 10% travel may be required
