Commodity Manager

We are looking for a Commodity Manager to join our team! The Commodity Manager manages the overall procurement process for designated Corporate/Professional Services commodities, including IT and HR. This includes utilization of procurement best practices, identifying market trends, industry benchmarking, supplier development, price controls, cost reductions, and cost avoidance to achieve the objectives of strategic sourcing initiatives. The services provided by this position are contract negotiations, pricing consistency, unified sourcing, and business unit support on directed purchases.

Responsibilities



  • Manage commodity/sourcing initiatives
  • Negotiate Contract pricing & Manage RFQ (Request for Quote) process supporting the Sales group and Purchasing Contract Quoting Team
  • Participate in the overall Purchasing strategy development and manage, maintain and improve procedures and Purchasing strategy
  • Ensure total cost is being managed within the buying execution and work with Team on identifying and driving cost reduction opportunities
  • Effectively communicate plant level or BU issues to appropriate functional areas (Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Finance, etc.)
  • Develop, maintain and report applicable management metrics include: monthly savings, on time delivery, late items, match/hold, uninvoiced receipts, and etc.
  • Actively evaluate sourcing mix and optimal sourcing alternatives and resolve issues relates to price, delivery, quality etc.
  • Manage contract process in conjunction with purchasing and legal

  • Self-motivated and possesses the ability to complete tasks on time and with little supervision.
  • Ability to perform complex cost assessments
  • Preferred C.P.M/CPIM (Certified Purchasing Manager/Certified Production Inventory Manager)
