Sr. Provider Data Specialist will work on partially on independent projects, reaching out to cross-functional teams in all areas of provider operations, depending on the business needs and urgency of the requests. The analyst will also support Customer Service Reps by answering questions about provider data.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Act as a Surest provider data expert with member services by answering provider data related inquiries (e.g., network status, copay amount)
  • Collaborate with other teammates to investigate provider data edge cases
  • Process Surest member feedback by editing our provider database to correct data errors or add new provider attributes
  • Conduct provider data research to enable continuous improvement to our database
  • Identify necessary updates to workflow, SOPs, reporting, and technology enhancements
  • Use pertinent data and facts to identify and solve a range of problems within area of expertise
  • Develop and maintain productive work relationships
  • Self-motivated to complete assigned tasks with minimal direction and assist management in driving team goals

Years of post-high school education can be substituted/is equivalent to years of experience

Required Qualifications:


  • 2+ years working in healthcare
  • 1+ years working understanding of provider data concepts (e.g., NPI, Tax ID, practicing location, specialty)
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups)
  • Proven high attention to detail
  • Proven solid ability to collaborate with teammates



Preferred Qualifications:


  • 1+ years working with SQL and relational databases
  • 1+ years working healthcare administrative data (e.g. claims, enrollment)
  • Experience with UHC provide data sets ex: NDB or MyUHC directory
  • Working knowledge of clinical data domains and code sets (CPT, ICD, DRG, etc.)



California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The hourly range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island or Washington residents is $27.07 to $53.08 per hour.
