Southwest Medical, part of OptumCare, is a multi - specialty group of physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants consisting of over 300 providers, 21 medical health centers including six urgent care clinics, four convenient care centers, two lifestyle centers catering to older adults, an outpatient surgery center, home health, hospice and palliative care services, plus E-visits and online options via Now Clinic telemedicine technology. We serve a broad expanse of Southern Nevada communities. From 24-hour urgent care to convenient e-visit capabilities, we're bringing our patients the health care they want, the way they want it.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Manage the intake of members or the admission/discharge information post notification
  • Work with hospitals, clinics, facilities and the clinical team to manage request for services from members and/or providers
  • Manage the referrals process, processing incoming and outgoing referrals, and prior authorizations, including intake, notification and census roles
  • Assist the clinical staff with setting up documents / triage cases for Clinical Coverage Review
  • Handle resolution / inquiries from members and/or providers that may include:
  • Initial screening of members
  • Administrative intake of members or managing the admission / discharge information post-notification
  • Work with hospitals and the clinical team. Includes managing incoming calls
  • Manage requests for services from providers / members, provide information on available network services and transfer members as appropriate to clinical staff
  • Manage the referrals process, processes incoming and outgoing referrals, and prior authorizations
  • Intake, notification and census roles

Years of post-high school education can be substituted/is equivalent to years of experience

Required Qualifications:



  • 1+ years of customer service experience analyzing and solving customer problems
  • 1+ years of experience working in a hospital, physician's office, or medical clinical setting
  • 1+ years of experience working with healthcare insurance


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience working with Medicare and/or Medicaid Services
  • Experience working in a call center environment
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology to communicate with members and providers
  • Demonstrated ability to create, edit, save and send documents utilizing Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate a PC to open applications, send emails, and conduct data entry



Nevada Residents Only: The hourly range for Nevada residents is $16.00 to $31.44 per hour.
